It’s like in the great stories. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.”

J.R.R. Tolkien.

Animators Roundtable: Full Interview
The Los Angeles Times uploaded an interview on their site with 5 directors who work at different animation studios. In this interview Jennifer Lee (Frozen), Dan Scanlon (Monsters University), Chris Sanders (The Croods), Chris Renaud (Despicable Me 2) and Chris Wedge (Epic) get interviewed and… http://bit.ly/1btUfwk

This is so incredibly interesting because they are all from different, competing studios, and most of their movies will be (or are) competing against each other for awards. But they’re all so friendly and eager to learn about each other’s movies and they’re mostly just geeking out together about animation and how much they love it.This is why I don’t understand fans who are like “Disney sucks, DreamWorks rules” or “Pixar is awesome, Disney sucks” or “DreamWorks sucks, Disney rules” or whatever. I like movies from all the studios. They’re all made by talented people who love what they do. Why hate on that?

This is such a precious interview! It’s so inspiring, learning & really a great joy. All that highly cares for animated movies, or to wants to get an understanding of how this business work, should really do themselves a huge favour and watch this amazing interview. These directors are ALL so stunningly talented, and each of the movies they represent have their own style, values, aspects, genre, highlights and what so ever! - BUT! They all share the same thing - Tremendous love for the creation of an animated adventure. It totally made my day watching this and lifted my heart =)

One of Disney’s Most Beautiful Character

just-storiesintheend:

In my opinion Tarzan’s mother is one of the Disney’s most beautiful female  characters.

I mean look at her!

It is an absolute shame that she gets so little screen time.
